What is the proper way to care for my Terradomi candle?

A great candle experience starts with properly taking care and maintaining your candle. Your Terradomi candle comes with a dust cover and sticker at the bottom of the vessel, describing burning instructions.
When burning, make sure the melt pool has reached the edge of the container. For our signature ceramic vessel collections, this is roughly 3-4 hours. Avoid extinguishing the candle before that. If the candle is extinguished too quickly, you may experience tunnelling. Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains.
To prevent fire and serious injury, burn your candle within sight. Keep away from drafts. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn your candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
 

Do I need to trim the wick?

Yes, the wick should be trimmed to 1/4” before each burn, excluding the first burn as the candle has its wick trimmed by us. This is applicable for all Terradomi candles, including our three wick candle.

What are Terradomi candles made of?

Terradomi candles are hand poured with care using simple ingredients- all natural soy wax, 100% cotton wicks, premium fragrance oils and essential oils. That’s it. Soy wax releases fragrances naturally, is water soluble, biodegradable and lasts for 25-50% longer than paraffin. It is free from pesticides and herbicides and it’s non toxic to the environment.

How long will my candle burn for?

If burnt as per our recommended instructions and maintained properly, 11 oz Terradomi candles burn for up to 65 hrs. Our 8 oz candle burn for about 50 hrs and our 14 oz three wick candles burn for approximately 80 hrs.

How do I clean and reuse the vessel?

Discontinue use when 1/2 inch of wax remains.

1. Turn your oven on to the lowest temperature setting, around 175 F. Place the candle jar in the oven and allow for the remaining wax to melt, this should not take more than 5 minutes.
2. Turn off the oven once the remaining wax is melted. Carefully remove the candle jar from the oven. CAUTION: the jar can get quite hot so please use an oven mitt or a towel.
3. Discard the wax in your compost container or green bin. Our soy wax is compostable and 100% biodegradable.
4. Wash candle jar with soapy warm water and allow for it to dry out.

Once the container is clean, you can opt for a refill or return it as part of our trade in program for $25 credit at our store. If you decide to keep the ceramic container, enjoy it as a mug, planter, pen/ make up brush holder or anything you like!

How do I store my Terradomi candle?

The candle wax and fragrance oils we use in our candles are sensitive to both temperature and light, so please be careful when storing candles for an extended period of time. If you store your candle, be sure it is in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or intense light. Avoid extreme temperatures, either high or low, in order to avoid melting, cracking and separation.

We recommend using your Terradomi candle within one year from the time of purchase.

Why is my candle sweating?

When exposed to fluctuations, moving from cooler temperatures to warmer ones, and also when pure soy wax is used, the oils in the candle may rise to the surface, in the form of small droplets. This does not affect the performance of the candle and once the candle is lit, the oils blend right back into to the wax.

Why is my candle bumpy after burning?

If the rate of cooling is inconsistent, the candle top might appear bumpy and rough after drying. This is a bi product of all natural soy wax and it does not affect the performance of the candle.

I love your candles! How long does it take to receive them?

All orders are generally processed within 2 to 4 business days. Typical shipping times are between 2-5 business days in Canada and 5-7 business days in USA. Currently, we only ship to Canada and US. During the holiday season, we ship orders within 3-5 business days.

Do you offer returns or exchanges?
